Stand-Up Comedy 101

Comedy Class Syllabus:

  • Learn the basics of stand-up comedy in a structured class setting

  • Mold topics into an original routine through a weekly on-stage performance workshop

  • Translate your ideas into a crafted act through proper joke structure and editing techniques

  • Experiment with elements of improv and acting principals to create a unique and organic performance

  • Hone your joke crafting skills with a focus on writing content

Comedy Classes Include:

  • Six three-hour-long comedy class sessions (sometimes three depending on class size) at Goodnights Comedy Club, Tuesdays from 6:00 to 9:00 PM

  • A Graduation Showcase at Goodnights following the final class session (schedule permitting) in which participants perform for an audience of friends and family in a supportive, positive, and controlled environment

Comedy Writing

A comedy writing session on all things sketch comedy. From writing sketches, to using improvisation to create sketches and characters on the spot. Learn how to write different styles of sketches, from character based sketches, parodies, to premise based sketches. Bring your sketches to life on camera or live on stage. Class will end with a showcase.

10 week class

This is a fun class to get your feet wet in the world of comedy and content creation.

  • Learning Fundamentals of Short Form and Long Form Improv. Breaking down the importance of warm ups, scene work, teamwork, skill building exercises, games, and forms. This class is heavily built around the philosophy of having fun while consistently applying what we learn. There is no failing when you see it through. There will be one or two showcases before the semester is over.

Comedy Writing at Moonlight arts & Entertainment

A comedy writing class on all things comedy related. From writing sketches, to stand-up comedy  Learn how to write different styles of jokes for stand-up, from topical jokes, act outs, to premise jokes based around a simple truth or funny idea. Learn to write an assortment of sketches from character based sketches, parodies, to desk bits. You will learn how to film and create a production schedule for sketch release. So you can stay ahead. 

This is a fun class to get your feet wet in the world of comedy. . 

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 2 payments of $87.50, paid every four weeks.
